Completed in 2019, the local authority covering the area where Kontio's manufacturing facilities are based have made a strong commitment towards the use of timber logs given the extensive range of benefits offered when using timber logs in buildings.

Timber log buildings have an inherent ability to improve indoor air quality by both absorbing and releasing moisture to an equilibrium. this prevents issues with mould growth, affecting the inhabitants health and speeds up the destruction of the timber. SmartLogTM

Design Protected

The building used Smartlog in its construction which is unique to Kontio and not available to any other timber log manufacturer. It is a non-settling log and allows other materials such as concrete or steel to be connected directly as there is no movement, something that would be impossible with conventional laminated logs. SmartLog also allows a building to be designed and installed on a much larger scale in both floor area and vertically.
